Product Features
The COTSHELL RESIN and COTSHELL CATALYST System is a SHELL foundry binder system, commonly known as NOVOLAC RESIN, a thermoplastic phenol formaldehyde type resin. Resin is designed to provide high level of productivity by using the latest technology available to the foundry industry.
PRODUCT CHARACTERISTIC
Physical properties:-
1. Appearance: - Dark brown liquid
2. Viscosity: - 100±10 secs on B6 ford cup @ 30ºC
3. Non volatile:- 72±0.2 %
Sand mix properties
Sand test results on washed Mangalore sand (AFS 50-55) with coating ratio 4 % resin on BOS & 18 % catalyst on BOR.
1. HTS (3 MIN CURING) :- 34 ±1 Kg/ cm²
2. CTS (3 MIN CURING) :- 36 ±1 Kg/ cm²
3. TRANSVERSE STRENGTH: - 54 ±1 Kg/ cm²
4. STICK POINT : - 98±1 ºC
5. LOI :-3.6±0.2 %

Advantages
